We are looking for a hands-on Restaurant Supervisor to support the day-to-day operation of our food and beverage team at Chateau Nova Yellowknife (4571- 48 Street Yellowknife, NWT X1A 0E2). The Restaurant Supervisor works closely with employees throughout each shift to keep service running smoothly, maintain quality and safety standards, and provide a positive experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate and schedule employees involved in preparing, portioning and serving food.
- Establish work schedules and procedures and help ensure appropriate staffing for each shift.
- Train employees in job duties, service standards, sanitation and workplace safety procedures.
- Monitor food preparation and service to ensure quality and presentation standards are maintained.
- Assist with ordering food, beverages and operating supplies as required.
- Maintain records relating to inventory, stock, repairs, sales and wastage.
- Respond to guest concerns and help resolve service issues promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with kitchen and other hotel departments to support smooth restaurant operations.
- Assist with the selection and onboarding of food service employees when required.
- Provide hands-on support to the restaurant team during busy service periods.
Qualifications
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- Completion of a college program in food service administration, hotel and restaurant management or a related field, or several years of experience in food preparation or food service.
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or food service environment.
- Experience supervising, coordinating or providing direction to employees is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation and workplace safety practices.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize work, establish priorities and work effectively in a busy environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Employment Type:
- Permanent, Full time
- 30-40 hours per week depending upon business needs
- Wage: $19.04 per hour
