A Registered Massage Therapist at In Sync Therapy Services Inc:

In Sync Therapy Services is currently looking for a massage therapist to join their multi disciplanary team of therapist providing supports to families and individuals in NW Calgary.  This position requires:

  • Working on a multidisciplinary therapy team consisting of Speech Language Pathologist,Occupationa Therapists, Physiotherapists Nutritionists and more
  • Experience with various therapeutic, deep tissue, relaxation and myofascial release is an asset
  • There is currently an existing massage therapy patient base to be transferred to the successful applicant
  • Part-time position

Purpose

The Massage Therapist performs a variety of duties including perform therapeutic massages of soft tissues and joints. Additionally,assist in the assessment of range of motion and muscle strength, or propose client therapy plans.. This position requires skill in initiating, planning, organizing the intake of new clients for treatment. The Massage therapist takes a thourough history and developes a comprehensive treatment program with the individualt.  Additionally the Massage Therapist coordinates with individuals on the multidiciplinary team to further the health benefits of their clients.

The Massage Therapist collects details required to allow the Therapy Coordinator to make appropriate practitioner assignments. As a part of this documentation process, the Massage Therapist confirms the collected details from the client.

Responsibilities and Activities

  • Provide 60- to 90-minute massages for appointment holders and walk-ins at our location
  • Guide clients through our service offerings and help them choose the types of massages that would benefit them most
  • Take detailed histories from clients, including information about any injuries or conditions, such as diabetes
  • Design sessions around clients’ specific complaints or problem areas
  • Listen to clients during massages and adjust technique to meet their needs
  • Suggest massage schedules for recurring sessions
  • Talk with clients about symptoms, medical history, and desired results
  • Evaluate clients to locate painful or tense areas of the body
  • Manipulate muscles or other soft tissues of the body
  • Provide clients with guidance on stretching, strengthening, overall relaxation, and how to improve their posture
  • Document client’s condition and progress
  • Schedules meetings with potential new clients
  • Responsible for generating new clients;

Education and Experience

  • Diploma - min 2200 hours certification required
  • 2 Years of experience in similar role would be be an asset, not required.
  • Current and valid AB license for massage therapy
  • Experience working in a  therapy center environment an asset
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Excellent customer service and sales 

Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of Speech Language, Occupational, Physical and Psychology therapy terminology,
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word;
  • Ability to work within and maintain a CRM.

Working Condition

  • Local travel may be required;
  • Occasional ability to work evenings and weekends;
  • Overtime as required.
