Infrastructure Specialist (Contract)

Purpose of Role

Infrastructure Specialist contract to join a project team to deliver a full data centre to private cloud transition.

Key Responsibilities

• This role will suit a technical generalist and will need to cover a broad range of disciplines. 
• The ideal candidate will have experience in all key areas of Infrastructure.  
• The role will be responsible for validating designs and documentation for suitability, liaising with and advising the wider project team and being the technical point of contact for the internal project team. 
• The role will be based in Swindon with some travel required at times.

Technical Skills/Knowledge & Experience

• 15+ years of experience
• Good knowledge of multiple infrastructure platforms from server and storage, to Virtualisation and networking
• Cloud Technologies (Public and Private)
• Windows Server 2000 – 2019
• IBM AIX
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory and associated services – DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
• VMware ESXi
• IBM Power Systems
• Database (Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle)
• Strong knowledge of network infrastructure – WAN/LAN/Switches/Firewalls
• Knowledge of backup systems
• Management of corporate Firewalls
• Storage/SAN management
• Some application support and environment management.
