This is an exciting role for a Data Engineer to join our digital team. You will be responsible for optimising our data and data pipelines, as well as optimising data flow and collection for cross functional teams. Ideally, you’ll be an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimising data systems and building them from the ground up. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimising or even re-designing our company’s data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.

We are happy for you to work fully remotely, as long as you are open to coming to our Bath offices once per quarter for the Digital In Person week. 

Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
  • Assemble large data sets that meet business requirements.
  • Re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability and reliability.
  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources such as SQL, NoSQL and APIs. 
  • Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product and Data teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Up to date documentation for consumption by business users in order to facilitate their use of BI tools
  • Automating as many data workflows as possible.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience: 

  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational and non relational databases
  • Understanding the concepts of ELT and ETL
  • Experience of programming in JavaScript and/or Python
  • Experience in source control such as GitHub.
  • Basic understanding of the tools available to you with GCP and AWS
