We are looking for a data-driven, commercially minded  Category & Insights Manager to join our team for a 12-month maternity cover. This role sits at the intersection of insight, commercial strategy, and customer collaboration — bringing together numbers, trends, and storytelling to drive growth in the European fruit category.

You’ll be responsible for leading our category vision with top retailers, turning Circana/Nielsen/Kantar data into actionable insights, and influencing promotional and pricing strategy. If you’re naturally curious, love a good pivot table, and get excited about what’s moving in-store — we want to talk.

Primary Accountabilities:

Responsible for leading market performance analysis, generating actionable consumer and retailer insights, developing strategic category plans, supporting promotional and pricing strategies, and collaborating cross-functionally to drive growth and alignment within the European fruit category.

  • Lead market performance tracking and shopper insight generation using Circana, Nielsen, Kantar and internal data
  • Deliver monthly business reporting and ad hoc analysis to support commercial priorities
  • Own the creation of annual business assessments for UK + Europe to feed strategic planning
  • Provide market insights and category rationale to guide NPD plans, ensuring new launches align with shopper needs and retailer expectations
  • Build inspirational, insight-led selling stories tailored to key retailers
  • Present in annual customer category meetings
  • Support decisions on range and distribution based on insight and performance data
  • Lead promotional analysis and guidelines, tracking effectiveness and ROI
  • Monitor competitive pricing and recommend country RSP positioning
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to align category plans with business and operational realities

Key Success Measures:

  • Delivery of clear, insight-led recommendations that directly shape commercial and strategic decisions
  • Demonstrated impact of category initiatives on retailer performance: increased visibility, sales, and market share
  • Measurable improvement in promotion ROI and pricing effectiveness
  • Positive feedback from internal stakeholders and retail partners on thought leadership and business partnering

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • A passion for turning data into action: you thrive on uncovering insights and influencing decisions
  • A strategic thinker with strong commercial instincts, able to balance shopper needs, brand goals, and retailer agendas
  • Confident communicator and presenter
  • Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams
  • Curious and committed to continuous improvement – always looking for smarter, sharper ways to do things

Experience, Knowledge, & Skills You Bring:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the position of Category Manager
  • Fluent in English mandatory; other languages (especially Dutch, French, or German) are a plus
  • Fluent in Excel (you know your way around VLOOKUPs, INDEX-MATCH, and pivots)
  • Confident in using Nielsen, Circana, Kantar, or similar shopper/retail data platforms
  • Solid experience in FMCG, ideally working across multiple European markets
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders and retailers
  • Bonus points for knowledge of the UK grocery landscape, especially the top 4

Location:

  • Travel required in Europe
  • Preferably based in the Netherlands or the UK: work out of a home office in the Netherlands or the UK and from the Rotterdam office

What we offer to you as part of our awesome and diverse team:

  • The opportunity to help develop our European organization to new levels and deliver on our purpose, while also building your personal and professional growth and well-being.
  • International collaboration in a small, engaged and highly diverse team, with direct colleagues in Netherlands, UK, Germany, France and Belgium.
  • A competitive remuneration package depending on the experience you bring, modern pension arrangements & income insurances, 26 days of holiday leave per annum, full reimbursement of public transportation travel cost, et cetera.
  • And of course the support and means to be successful in this role, such as laptop, mobile phone, home office equipment, et cetera.
