Position Title: Community Table Cook

Type: Part-Time

Location: David G. Hatch Unit, Sturgeon Bay, WI

Pay Classification: Indvidual Contributor, Not Benefit Eligible

As the Community Table Cook, you will assist Youth Nutrition Coordinator in planning, prepping, cooking, serving, and cleanup of the daily meal program for youth, ages 6-14 years of age.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports Boys & Girls Club site staff in the execution of the meal program at the Club House.
  • Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities.
  • Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations, ensuring the variety and quality of the servings.
  • Work with Youth Nutrition Coordinator to plan and order ingredients according to identified shortages.
  • Report any neccessay equipment repair or failure to Youth Nutrition Coordinator.
  • Maintain a routine and process for cleaning of kitchen equipment, fridge, cooler.
  • Comply with nutrition, sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  • Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers.
  • Promote and create a position image of the Club in the community and among the Club members
  • Ensures a safe, health, and positive environment for Club staff, members, volunteers, and guests

Skills and Knowledge

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Passion for and proven cooking abilities
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve, and monitor progress
  • Proven kitchen management skills
  • Demonstrates professionalism, punctuality and strong communication skills.

Preferred Requirements

  • At least 3 months experience working in a kitchen or cooking setting.
  • Training in current culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes.
  • Supporting in program planning and development.
  • Understanding of standard computer programs
  • Credentials in health & safety training- if not, Safe Serve credentials will be required within 3 months of hire
