Under the supervision of the Pinecrest Administrator, has responsibility for identifying resident needs and interests and creating, planning and implementing social events and activities for Pinecrest residents. Works closely with residents on physical, educational and recreational activities. Has responsibility for developing the programming and events calendar and recruiting and directing volunteers in support activities. Works cooperatively with other Pinecrest personnel and plays a key role in ensuring a well-rounded social, physical and cultural experience for Pinecrest residents.
Associate’s Degree with coursework in social work, or a related field, and one year of experience working in health care, social wellness, recreational therapy or a related field. Valid Michigan Vehicle Operator’s License. Knowledge of the principles and practices of social services and providing social wellness programming to a vulnerable population. Knowledge and skill in conducting interviews, evaluating and assessing an individual’s needs, and developing and implementing activity plans. Ability to plan and maintain social and recreational programming in a coordinated manner. Demonstrated ability to maintain professional integrity and respect for clients, and families, including the ability to effectively meet and deal with the public.
Current hourly wage starting at $22.93- $29.86/hr (7-year progression)
