Based in Haywards Heath, West Sussex with the flexibility to work remotely you will work with the press team to proactively support the handling of all media interest ensuring that NAHT meets its media and campaigning objectives whilst increasing the public profile and media interest of NAHT.
You must be able to work on your own initiative and manage day to day priorities as directed by the Head of Press & Media.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is energetic and passionate about their position and education.
You will have at least three years’ experience of working in a modern press office with the ability to write clear, crisp and engaging content. You will possess a good level of awareness in terms of current affairs and the political nature of education complemented by an understanding of the union environment or a desire to learn more about working with a union.
Excellent communication and written skills together with an ability to translate complex information into simple terms are essential for this role. You will need a flexible approach to work including the ability to work out of hours to support the press team when needed.
