We are looking for a dynamic individual to ensure members and NAHT officials receive high quality professional and specialist advice and support on educational management issues, general employment law queries, pensions and conditions of service, including salaries, enabling them to better undertake the function of their leadership role and to empower them to represent members individually and collectively as necessary.

This role will have a particular focus on the framework surrounding education in schools, such as safeguarding.  It will also focus on the terms and conditions of employment for those working in schools and will involve a general basic understanding of employment law and/or trade union law; a good working knowledge of the UK education system, trade union activity and UK employment law is therefore desirable.

Person specification

We are looking for enthusiastic individual with a broad range of experience in giving professional advice, who is able to identify, locate and interpret complex information and deal with many tasks and responsibilities concurrently.

Highly developed interpersonal skills and professional gravitas to advise members on complex and highly sensitive areas and establish credibility with members of NAHT, employing bodies, stakeholders and other trade unions is critical to this role.

The post holder will need to be detail oriented, solution focused and emotionally resilient with the mental agility and flexibility to meet the dynamic demands of the role.
