The Goodman Lounge Bartender is an integral part of the Goodman Theatre’s front-of-house department. This position is responsible for taking care of our VIP patrons in a private lounge as a bartender and host.  The Goodman Lounge Bartender will pro-actively anticipate the needs of guests, donors and sponsors.  This is a part-time position with regular evening and weekend hours. This is an hourly, tipped position.



  • Greet and welcome guests
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging customer service
  • Identify and anticipate guests’ needs
  • Preparation and serving of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Safe preparation and handling of food
  • Conduct regular inventories of supplies
  • Insure cleanliness and timely maintenance of the Lounge
  • Insure that Goodman patrons have a superior experience at the theatre
  • Communicate with other departments on the use of the Lounge.


  • 1-2 years of experience working with high-end clientele
  • Must possess outstanding customer service skills and sophisticated verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications; knowledge of Tessitura a plus
  • Must be BASSET certified or willing to do so if hired.
  • Able to work and think independently, as well as in team settings for performances and various donor events
  • Cocktail/Beer/Wine Knowledge
