Data Analyst (Finance Systems)

Up to £37,000 + benefits

12 months fixed term contract

35 hours per week (happy to talk flexible working)

The Role

As Data Analyst, you will be part of Finance team and you will support with data migration projects. You will work in collaboration with other team members to ensure data is successfully migrated to the new core finance system. You will also be responsible for the smooth running of financial system operations and you will be the first point of contact for finance systems queries and day to day system issues.   

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing the day-to-day data file flow between third party systems and core finance system
  • Managing and administering changes to chart of accounts (project and general ledger codes)
  • Managing the resolution of finance data and systems issues as and when they arise
  • Independently managing the importing and exporting data, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Optimising, cleansing and deduplication of large data within the finance system
  • Responsible for the management of financial month-end routines and admin duties
  • Working as part of the Finance Transformation team to identify improvements for finance data processes

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

  • A degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Finance, Computer Science, Economics, or a qualified accountant (AAT, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or candidates qualified by experience
  • Experience of finance data migration projects
  • Experience of data management and data structures
  • Experience and knowledge of business intelligence, reporting and data visualisation products such as MS Power BI
  • An understanding of Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes
  • High level of proficiency of data manipulation in SQL (or similar)
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite, advanced skills in Excel
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments and stakeholders at all levels
